BEIJING – Chinese President Xi Jinping on Wednesday expressed his government’s resolve to sand by the World Community to combat terrorism in its all forms and manifestation.
Strongly condemned a series of terror attacks on Brussels, which killed dozens of people and injured many others, he said terrorism is a common enemy and they must be united to rooted it out ensure peace and development.
In a message sent on Tuesday to King Philippe of Belgium following the deadly attacks, Xi extended his deep condolences to the victims and expressed sincere sympathy for the injured and families of the victims.
The Chinese president noted that terrorism is the common enemy of mankind and a common threat facing the international community, saying China opposes all forms of terrorism and stands ready to safeguard peace and stability of China, Belgium and the whole world.
China stands ready to work with Belgium to enhance cooperation on security and anti-terrorism, to promote concerted international efforts to address both the symptoms and root causes of terrorism, Xi said.
The extremist group Islamic State militant group has claimed the terror attacks, which put Belgium and other European countries on high alert.
