KHANEWAL: Former Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gilani on Wednesday said the sole motto of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) is to serve the masses and the Bhutto family sacrificed greatly for the Pakistani people.
Addressing a workers’ convention, he said the previous government – of PPP – was acknowledged for providing the youth with jobs, helping 70,000 poor people through the Benazir Income Support Programme and restoring the Pakistani constitution in its original form.
Gilani said the PPP was a party of the common man and the party’s love could not be removed from the society’s hearts. He termed the operation Zarb-e-Azb as an extension of the last PPP government policies. “Those thinking of eliminating the PPP from mainstream politics were living in a fool’s paradise,” Gilani said.
